It’s time to hunt those pods! Moth plant seed pods are about to split, and we need your help to stop the spread before they take over our native bush.

To support the effort, we’re giving away $500 in vouchers to Moth Plant weed warriors this April & May!

Moth plant (Araujia hortorum) is one of New Zealand’s most aggressive “smothering” vines, capable of climbing up to 10 meters and suffocating entire native canopies until they collapse under its weight. This invasive pest is a double threat: its toxic, milky sap causes severe skin and eye irritation in humans, while its pods release thousands of wind-borne seeds that can travel for kilometers, relentlessly invading our gardens and forest margins.

This competition is a true saviour because it turns the tide during the critical April & May window—just before those heavy pods split and release their next generation of destruction. By joining the hunt, you aren’t just competing for prizes; you are providing the “boots on the ground” needed to protect our native biodiversity, stop the spread of a dangerous irritant in our communities, and reclaim our unique Kiwi landscapes one pod at a time.

Moth Plant Competition – Terms and Conditions

By entering “The Great Moth Plant Hunt” (the Promotion), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. The Promoter

The promoter is Key Industries Ltd trading as Cut’n’Paste (hereafter, “we”, “us” or “Cut’n’Paste“)

2. General

  • Eligibility: Open to NZ residents only, aged 18+. Employees and contractors of Key Industries, Cut’n’Paste, and their immediate families are ineligible.
  • Duration: Entries open 1 April – 31 May 2026.
  • Winner Selection: Winners will be drawn at random on 5 June 2026.
  • Promoter Rights: Cut’n’Paste reserves the right to amend, cancel, or withdraw this promotion at any time without notice. We reserve the right to determine eligibility and may remove any content at our sole discretion without notification.
  • Finality: The promoter’s decision is final; no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Safety & Privacy: Always follow label instructions. By posting your photo, you grant Cut’n’Paste permission to reshare your entry for promotional purposes.
  • SCAMMER ALERT: We will never ask for your credit card details or bank info. Winners will be contacted via DM by the official @cutnpastenz account only.

3. Promotion Period

The Promotion begins on 1 April 2026 and ends on 31st May 2026. Entries received outside of this period will not be considered.

4. How to Enter

You can enter via Facebook or Instagram or both! The more entries the greater your chance of winning!

  1. Take a photo of you in the bush tackling Moth Plant or showing your Moth Plant seed pod haul;
  2. Facebook: Simply comment and add your photo on this Facebook post and mention which product you used (e.g. MetGel, Picloram, or Glimax).
  3. Instagram: Post the photo to your feed and tag us @cutnpastenz and mention which product you used (e.g. MetGel, Picloram, or Glimax).

  4. SHARE: Want to help the neighborhood? Feel free to share our Facebook post to your timeline so your mates can enter too!
  5. Multiple entries are permitted. Each unique post featuring a different location or plant counts as one entry. However please note that to be fair to all entrants, only one voucher can be won per person and if you are drawn as a winner, you will then be excluded from additional draws for this competition.

5. Prizes and Selection

  • The Prizes:
  • 1st Prize: $250 Cut’n’Paste Voucher
  • 2nd Prize: $150 Cut’n’Paste Voucher
  • 3rd Prize: $100 Cut’n’Paste Voucher
  • General Limits: Each prize voucher will be drawn separately. There is a maximum of 1 voucher per person. Vouchers are not redeemable for cash and are strictly non-transferable.
  • Selection Process: Prizes will be drawn on 5 June 2026. The winner of each voucher will be determined by a random draw from all valid entries.
  • Notification: Winners will be notified via Direct Message from our official account on the platform they entered (Instagram or Facebook) within 7 days of the draw. We will also tag the winners in a public post/story (if they are taggable).
  • Claiming the Prize: A winner must claim / accept their voucher prize within 7 days of the initial notification / DM. If they do not, that winner’s entry will be declared invalid and their prize will be forfeited. By claiming and accepting the voucher/coupon, the recipient is agreeing to the terms and conditions herein.
  • Winner Announcement: By entering, you agree to have your name and winning entry photo featured on Cut’n’Paste’s social media feeds and website for the purpose of announcing the winners.
  • Redeeming your voucher:
  • The voucher can only be redeemed for Cut’n’Paste weedgel products on the official cutnpaste.co.nz website. It is not valid for use with any other products and cannot be used at any retail stockists or physical points of sale.
  • The voucher code can only be used once, is strictly non-transferable, and may only be redeemed by the verified winner using the email address they have provided during communications.
  • No change, credit, or cash refund will be given for partial use; the full amount must be used in a single transaction. If a transaction total is greater than that of the prize value, the difference in price will be payable at checkout. If the transaction total is lower than that of the prize value, no change or replacement voucher will be issued and the amount will be lost (in other words, use all of it in one go !)
  • The voucher applies to product totals only and excludes shipping fees. The winner is responsible for paying standard shipping costs which will be display and must be paid for at checkout using a valid credit card.
  • The voucher cannot be combined with any other active promotional codes or discounts.
  • The voucher is valid for a maximum of 30 days from the date of issue, after which it will expire and become void (in other words – use it quickly!)

6. Health & Safety (Important)

  • Sap Warning: Moth Plant sap is a skin and eye irritant. We strongly recommend wearing gloves, long sleeves, and eye protection while handling the plant.
  • Product Use: Cut’n’Paste weedgels must be used strictly in accordance with the label instructions.
  • Property Access: You must obtain permission from the landowner before entering private property to treat Moth Plant ( or any weed).
  • Liability: The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage incurred while participating in this competition or when using any product supplied, whether free or not. Participants enter and use at their own risk.

7. Intellectual Property & Privacy

  • By tagging us, or by posting to our facebook page, you grant Cut’n’Paste a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to regram or use your photo for promotional purposes on social media and our website indefinitely.
  • Any personal information collected will be used solely for the purpose of administering this competition and will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

8. Platform Disclaimer

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Google, Meta, Instagram or Facebook. You completely release Instagram/Facebook from any liability associated with this promotion.

9. 10% Discount Code

  • The code MOTHPLANT is valid from 1 April to 30 April 2026.
  • It applies to the “weedgel” range only and cannot be used in conjunction with other offers.
