To add a little to the above re moth plant. Word on the Auckland streets is to “scrap and paste” to get around the problem with the white sap. I generally scrape about 150mm of stem and apply bamboo buster to the scraped stem. This works well both green and thick white stems. Once pasted I cut above the pasted bit. The white sap does not bleed out the scraps but the glyphosate still penetrates.
I have also used this where I could not get close to the roots and scrapped a 10mm steam at least a meter from the ground. 6 months and no regrowth from old stem.
I am doing regular weeding in public spaces around Sandringham and Western Springs.
