Hi Russell, thanks for the update — good to hear Bamboo Buster did the job on Woolly nightshade, and good that you didn’t need to go to Glimax for that one. Just know that you can easily use Glimax if you need to, just be careful about using next to water courses.

Yes, the “scrape and paste” tip for moth plant is another excellent method which echoes what a few other users have reported as well. For those who are not familiar with this technique, you scrape back the bark instead of cutting through the stem – as this gets around the milky sap sealing the wound before the glyphosate can be absorbed. It’s basically tricking the plant into absorbing the weed gel first, then making the cut later. It’s a handy option when you can’t cut right at ground level too. As you say, even a scrape a metre up the stem works if the roots aren’t accessible. Six months with no regrowth is a great result and proves the technique. I will add this as a supplementary tip in our moth plant guidance too and mention your post.

Good on ya mate, for the weeding work around Sandringham and Western Springs. Pest plant control like that makes a real difference around city and it’s good to know Bamboo Buster is holding up well in field conditions, not just backyard use.
