Jasmine has a beautiful scent but it's a killer. Included in this methodology below are Japanese honeysuckle and Black Eyed Susie and Blue Morning Glory.

Most people are very familiar with the beautiful scent of flowering Jasmine. It’s planted because of this, but, Jasmine doesn’t know when to stop. Before long it’s invaded the bush and is growing over trees and smothering the bush. Travelling under houses and footpaths and out the other side.

Because it’s associated with plants that you want to keep it’s important to use our Glimax glyphosate gel to treat it. Bamboo Buster can also be effective. If you have nothing nearby that could be hurt by run-off or ground residual effects then MetGel can be very effective.

Tie together, very tightly, a large bunch of the vines with two ties close together. The larger the bunch the better. Cut between the ties and apply the gel to BOTH cut ends as you don’t know which direction is the roots of the plant. The small stems will absorb enough of the gel to travel down the plant into the roots.

You will notice die off beginning after a week or two.

This approach can be used for other vine-like weeds such as Japanese honeysuckle and Black Eyed Susie and Blue Morning Glory.

You will need to persist until all the vines are dead. It’s amazing how quickly it can regrow from a small piece of untreated vine. The rhizomes and shoots of Jasmine can travel many meters away from the place you have been treating. Completely under a house and out the other side.

If you really want to keep Jasmine it’s safe if kept in a large pot on a patio or somewhere where it cannot escape.
